A licensed architect, 3D artist, and XR designer and producer with more than 27 years of industry experience, Kim has focused on designing, producing and publishing interactive AR apps, serious games and VR experiences for the past ten years. His first work in virtual reality was with the Houston VR startup CyberSim in 1995. An entrepreneur at heart, Kim has started up two design visualization studios, and led XR and 3D teams in tech startups like TheMoon, The Future Group, and Ocean Visioneering. He is a co-founder and chief content officer in the Norwegian tech startup Viewalk using gaming technology to make people move more, not less. Previously he directed the Art Lab at Kulturtanken – Arts for Young Audiences Norway, producing innovative XR art prototypes, and he has run his own XR design and visualization studio Dimension Design since 1995. Kim has served on several juries for immersive experiences for the SIGGRAPH conferences, and the 2021 VRINN Awards committee, and co-curated and co-hosted the architecture track for the RealTime Conference. He is a co-founder of XR Norway and Norwegian Interactive Storytellers and has taught XR design at Kristiania University College. A frequent speaker at international events like SIGGRAPH, Laval Virtual, fmx, SplitX, VIEW, Mundos Digitales, and EUE Kim enjoys meeting new people and sharing his insight.
